Greetings from Florida, people! It's currently 11:09 in the evening on the 3rd of July, and all the locals are getting ready for independance day. Me and my family have been going to theme parks and shopping a lot over the past week and a half (today we did 10 hours straight... I nearly died!!!) and we're loving the weather. James Marnell was right, it rains like clockwork over here! It's been ridiculously hot, but every time we go into a shop/restaurant the air conditioning is arctic. In the sa… Continue

Hello,
My name is Doris Anne Beaulieu. I have a website-Life’s Ultimate Test dot com-on which you can learn more about my mission to change the face of home schooling.
I attended a parochial school as a child in the 1950's. In this Catholic school I was sheltered from the realities of the world around me-from swearing, from public displays of affection, from slang. These are often some of the same things that modern home schooling parents aim to protect their children from. A superior court judg… Continue
Last Saturday was the last day that I would change into my peasant orange and blue costume and clompy boots to shout and scream and cry on stage, it was the last time Ruth and Jess and myself would steal Paddy's i-pod and raid his Lady Gaga collection. It was the last time that the three of us, together would go out during the interval half dressed in our costume and pretend we didn't know anything about any play.
Playboy Of The Western world was staged from Tuesday 29th to Saturday 2nd of May… Continue

Ok, so once there was this little spot of fecal matter called Gerald who had very low self esteem. So great was his depression that one day he decided to get the 'Domestos triple action' and be rid of himself once and for all. He lay in his matchstick box bed and started to empty the Domestos on his body. But he stopped. He looked around. He looked at himself. He looked at the bottle of 'Domestos'. 'This is not the way to go', he wisely thought to himself. So he cleaned himself up, dried himself… Continue
I am gathering quotes of the day - there is no particular reason for this other than the random moments of hilarity that happen to happen round here!
So, here is the deal - SEND ME YOUR QUOTES OF THE DAY! The Funnier, the sillier, the better!

1.Story by Robert McKee
The bible of all screen writers and definitely worth a read. Roberty McKee beleives that in the last 30 years people have forgotten how to tell stories and he gives you the rules of writing a screenplay which seems deceptively easy but is really difficult to get right.
2.Film Directing by Sidney Lumet
Nobody should be allowed direct anything until they read this: an absolute must. Lumet is the only working professional director who is actually capable of describing how t… Continue
It was the second Wedneday afternoon, the ninth day of Yore's visit. And oh, what an eventless nine days it had been. In the beginning, he had seemed alright. Kind of quiet, but that was understandable. But as the week had progressed, things got so quiet, and so dull that even Gray couldn't handle it any longer.
The attic was colder than usual. Nobody had said a word in the past hour and a half. The four of them just sat silently, staring at the TV screen. It was normal for this to be the situat… Continue

Here is a list of good film websites which I have divided into two.
Film Geek Websites
These are sites for people who love watching movies and want to find out about upcoming films:
Still the best resource for finding out general credit info about a movie (and solving many the late night argument):
http://www.imdb.com/
A personal favorite full of great lists and links( I love their top 300 movie section with Youtube clips):
http://www.theyshootpictures.com/
The geek of all geeks Harry Knowl… Continue
Gray stared at the bin in front of him. Three hours. He'd been sitting, waiting in Dublin's dull excuse for an airport for three hours. He had forgotten why they were there, he was so depressed. At this stage, he had become somewhat like a zombie.
"Gray!"
Gray jumped out of his peaceful depression, and looked around to see who called him. He saw Dave standing behind him, wearing a sombraro.
"Dave, why..."
He stopped in his tracks. He thought it best not to ask.
"C'mon, we have to find Paul" said… Continue

Today I'm going to review a little-known gem called Runaway Train. Released in 1985 and directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, this film is an action adventure, worthy of a higher accolade than an oscar. It's a shame that hardly anyone knows about it. The basic plot premise is in the title. It's about a prison break. I'm not joking, the first section of the film is set entirely in an alaskan maximum security prison. Here, Oscar "Manny" Manheim (played by Jon Voight) has been welded into his cell, afte… Continue

With this being a filmmakers site and all, and since I have nothing better to do at the moment, I think I'll be a bit sad and write a blog entry. I'm going to fill my blog with a review of whatever film I watched last night, be it old or new, terrible or genius, pointless or powerful.
Today it's "The Cannonball Run", the 1981 film directed by Hal Needham, although I don't think anyone would want to watch this film for the direction; It's not Orson Welles stuff that's going on here. The general… Continue
